
Richard Boberg is a native of Spokane, where he played with David Taylor in the Spokane Junior Symphony and the Spokane Symphony. He moved to Portland in 1962, and worked as an over the road Teamster until he started his musical instrument repair business in 1980. He received his master's degree in clarinet performance from Portland State University in 1998. He is past president of the Portland Wind Symphony, and currently plays with the Beaverton and Tualatin Symphonies, Portland Wind Symphony and the Northwest Wind Symphony in Centralia. He is the interim president of the Tualatin valley Symphony board.
